OUR TEAM

TREVOR MCIVOR
Principal Architect, OAA, MRAIC

Trevor is the principal of TMA and is a licensed Architect registered with the Ontario Association of Architects and a Member of the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada and a member of the Toronto Society of Architects.

My sensibilities for the environment and strong connection to the Canadian landscape were informed during a lifetime of family cottaging and camping in Algonquin Park and experiencing natural beauty from coast to coast. Like many of us I find this the perfect counterpoint to the vibrancy of living and travelling in our dense urban Cities. I attended the University of Waterloo School of Architecture during which time I spent numerous work terms working on construction sites learning the realities of the building industry. In 1998 I graduated, completing my thesis work on sustainable design. In 1998 I established Altius Design and later Altius Architecture with three classmates and remained as Principal until establishing Trevor McIvor Architect in 2016. Having completed over fifty unique buildings across Ontario over the last twenty years the goal with our new studio is to build on this experience, push our ideas and continue working in this beautiful and varied landscape, both the urban and the unknown, collaborating with unique people to create buildings that harmonize them with their surroundings.

DOMINIKA LINOWSKA

Dominika joined Trevor McIvor in 2016 to form TMA’s architectural studio. Dominika had the chance to study and live in France for a school term, as well as The Netherlands where she pursued her masters in Architecture. Her thesis project incorporated work/live housing design and was nominated for the Archiprix. Dominika brings enjoyment and reality to TMA’s team through her meticulous drawing and organizational skills; a much appreciated blend for an architecture office. Dominika has worked on numerous projects, from small garage sheds, to minimalist bunkie designs, to large-scale cottages, as well as multi-unit residential design projects. Dominika is also the interior designer at TMA. Dominika’s love of making things extends to her free time with collage, punctuated by cooking, yoga, swimming, and travelling.

CRAIG DOWNES
Construction Manager at Trea Building Systems

Craig grew up in Ashburn, Ontario where his family built his childhood home. He grew up working alongside his father doing construction projects, crafting furniture in his father’s woodshop, and tinkering in the garage. He moved to Muskoka in 2010 when an opportunity for a home renovation in Port Carling came up. While Craig was doing renovations on his home, he also started work with Muskoka Crib Docks. While building docks on the beautiful lakes throughout the Muskoka region, Craig made the decision to make Muskoka his home. Craig completed flipping his house and bought another home in Port Carling where he continues to renovate. Through the connections he made in his new home town, Craig was offered a job with Trevor McIvor as a Project Manager. He brought his construction experience and the connections he has made in the area to his new role.
